Bio
I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. We don’t have specializations at my college so I get to learn about a variety of topics within Technology and Computer Science. I have gotten the chance to work on Cloud Computing at my previous internship with Intel, but the next topic I would like to tackle is Data Science/Data Analytics. I find it really interesting how we can use data collected from a variety of topics to analyze different things, like how people interact with Spotify, or how often people go to a certain grocery store, and so on. I believe this can be helpful and impactful in other areas, like determining how to influence more people to pursue at STEM degree, for example.

Why would you recommend exploring careers in science and technology to other Latina girls?
I think STEM careers are very valuable. From being a doctor, to being a biomedical engineer, industrial engineer, computer scientist, STEM majors help all around in different ways. More importantly, I think it’s critical to continue bringing in more Latinas into tech. As women, we are the minority in tech, but even moreso as Latinas. Our presence is valuable. We bring a new perspective to problem-solving, we bring new ideas to the table. I am in this field not only because I enjoy the work that I’m doing, but because I know that more people like me can do this type of work as well, and I am to continue encouraging others to do so.
