My name is Gia Mar Ramos. I am a Puerto Rican Computer Science Engineering student at Cornell University. I have always been passionate about technology. My goal as an aspiring Computer Science Engineer is to make a lasting contribution to society through innovation. In 2018, I founded Girl Innovation with the mission to close the gender gap in technology. My role as program leader was to teach and mentor young women about technology and empower them to be confident solving problems with code. For this initiative, I received the 2018 Puerto Rico Leadership Award in the Innovation and Technology category, the Puerto Rico Governor’s Medal, and Mayor of Gurabo medal. At Cornell, I am a part of Cornell DEBUT, a biomedical engineering project team. I am also a 2023 Amazon Future Engineer Ambassador 2021 Amazon Future Engineer Scholar and Intern. In my free time, I am an avid traveler and foodie. I love to try new things like joining a Spin or pilates class and trying new restaurants with my friends.
