Bio
Serving as an IT Support Analyst to the Office of Admissions at the Florida State University, contributing to the successful development and launch of innovative applications, learning cutting-edge technology, and programming in my free time; briefly describes the background that had brought me to where I am today, an IT Resident at Google. I worked as an IT Support Analyst and Patching Manager for the Office of Admissions and Records. I managed 221 computers, tasked with generating technical assistance and conducing security audits for 176 users. Now, I provide support across all channels, including chat, email, video, and in-person to Google employees. I troubleshoot across Google’s corporate resources, applications, and various operating systems, including Linux, OS X, Windows, Chrome OS and Android platforms. As an IT Resident you get to rotate with a team of your choice and my plan is to rotate with Software Engineers where I will be mentored and take on challenging projects. This is only the beginning of the dreams and aspirations I have. After graduating college, my dream has been to become a Software Engineer and make the dreams of others a reality.

Why would you recommend exploring careers in science and technology to other Latina girls?
Be bold. I couldn't express this enough to girls and women in general. How can one live their dream life without taking chances? I was never the smartest, the richest, the know it all but I was hard working. And I thank my parents for that. Moving from Colombia when I was 10 and seeing my parents work hard for me to get an education, proved to me that if you want something bad enough, you'll find a way to achieve it. You don't have to be a computer wizard to be in Tech but you must have a passion for it and the good you can do with it. "Be bold, take chances and be kind" -once said a Mexican woman that changed my life forever.
