Bio
I am currently a Software Engineer at Scribd, specifically part of the Android team. I get to develop features for our Android mobile application and work with other Android engineers to solve different sets of problems. I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in computer science and relocated to San Francisco.
During college, I interned as a software engineer at Salesforce and Clover Network in the Bay Area. My internships helped me learn what type of work I wanted to do in my field when I graduated. Now, as a software engineer in the industry, I want to continue learning about the different things I can do with my skill set.

Why would you recommend exploring careers in science and technology to other Latina girls?
I would recommend exploring careers in science and technology to other Latinas, not only to boost our low numbers in the field but also because every Latina girl is capable of working in those fields. And I understand media portrays Latinas only in working-class and other jobs that are not ambitious. This negative portrayal of Latinas does not let other Latinas realize that they could go up the professional ladder, but. they could do it knowing that there are more opportunities and passion in technology. There are always jobs in this field, and it’s becoming known that companies want a diverse group. The skills you receive in finding a career in science and technology could help the community, the state, and even globally.
