Alexandra Figueroa is currently a Lead Senior Software Developer at General Motors Corporation (GM). Alexandra’s responsibilities include design, developing, testing and implementing new software engineer solutions to the different applications that support manufacturing facilities through the world. Alexandra is also responsible in helping leading developers technically as well as performing any coding reviews for the quality of the applications being build.
She is the founder of the Hispanic Initiative Team Arizona, an ERG within GM. Her leadership has contributed in establishing a connection with the community in the Phoenix area. Alexandra has led program opportunities different schools focusing on helping create awareness to the students about Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM). In addition, she has worked on partnerships with different Hispanic non-profit organizations that GM support, including MANA, USHLI, HACR, HWC, LULAC, HHF, SHPE, and GMiS just to name a few. Currently she sits as a Board of Director member for the Hispanic Women Corporation (HWC) non-profit organization.
Alexandra was appointed to a Leadership group within GM, which its main goal is to attract, retain and recruit Hispanics thru organizations that GM supports, like SHPE and HENAAC. She actively participates in meetings and leadership discussions about how to create a bigger impact with Hispanics in the area of STEM.

There is a shortage of professionals in these fields. Careers in STEM are in high demand and are paid extremely well. In addition, the need to have diversification on the workforce is huge and important for corporations to have those different points of views. Latinas are under represented and needed to provide these organizations the views of our culture.
